    Post Re: Is it gross?

It's gross yes, but it's also unhealthy for your pet to be feeding him human food..table scraps and such. Dogs, cats are probably the same way, feel much better and will live much healthier based on a consistent diet of dry dog food, I prefer to feed my dogs IAMS. I've never encouraged feeding my dogs from the table I've always made clear they are to stay away while I'm eating my food.

Most of the time we gave them the bones, they love the bones with a little meat left on. But sometime they like to eat stew, boiled carrots or meatrice leftovers. My dogs don't eat sh*t or things they find on the ground, and there are dirtier things than a dog's mouth. The plates get washed and sanitized in the washer and we never had problems. But usually if I cook something which is edible I cook an extra portion for the dog. There are many cooked meals a dog can eat, you have to cook it a bit differently than for a human but they can eat cooked food.

Oh dear, we absolutely ADORE our cats, but we never leave them eat off our plates for heaven's sake!! This is not a behavior we want to reinforce, we don't want the cats to beg for human food, we don't want them to accidentally eat something toxic to them, and ...you never know where that cat mouth has been right before

*** of course, they still manage to sneak into the kitchen and eat off our leftovers....because they're CATS That's why we try to clean everyting up right after eating.

Yup...sleeping in the same bed (cat) is enough.

My cat has own food and own plastic cat plate for food (on floor). But I admit...I still spoil it a bit .... meaning: he can always eat/choose between some 4 different cat foods (I give him small amount of all those at the same time).
