A friend gave me pathfinder on dvd because he taught i would like it aaarrrggghhh. This is the worst movie i have ever seen i fast forwarded most of it. How dare they push this rubbish out there and expect educated people to sit and enjoy it. Two guys i work with loved this movie which i suppose its the market it was aimed at. People that dont care what happened last week never mind history. We can not expect anything else from holywood anyway but it would be nice if they did some research before making such a movie.

Actually, The Pathfinder is a Norwegian movie, which became the best foreign movie of the year(Don't remeber which year thougheyes: )
But Hollywood bought the rights for that movie last year, or 2006. And now they have made a remake of it. As I own and have seen the original Veiviseren (Which is the original title) I have seen what abominational-movies that comes from Hollywood... "Remade into a better movie" my arse!

I recommend watching the original Pathfinder/Veiviseren!

Did not know of an original thanks i will check it out. Most remakes are just a dumbed down version of the original we are going to be flooded with remakes of great Japanese horror movies this year. So another great year of movies aheadeyes:

    No problem!
And yeah, most remakes are idiotic attempts at creating something that couldn't be made better. I've heard they are about to remake The Shining! :eek :runaway
Now, that is one of my favourite movies, so I'm not gonna watch that!

Haha, well, I actually like the Japanese horror remakes :runaway
Especially The Ring and The Grudge-movies. Both of those remakes are pretty good, but ofcourse, the original ones are even better!

I did see the remake of the Ring before i saw the originals so in one way remakes are ok because they make us aware of these movies. But do we need every Japanese movie to be remade. The difference with Japanese movies is that they do not beleive in the happy ending all the time. They are not affraid to kill the movie "Hero". I like that grimness in a movie mainly a horror movie. I think it shows that in life there are no Heros just normal people that can die. Thats what gives their movies more atmosphere because you acn put yourself in that position. The Japanese movies feel natural where the american versions are forced IMO.

The original "veiviseren" is the best Norwegian movie ever made actually.
http://imdb.com/title/tt0093668/ It is about the tsjude people (from Russia and Finland) invading northern-Norway and the sami people which need to defend themself.
