    Question Editing on Wikipedia?

I occasionaly visit Wikipedia to edit historical and race-related articles (one doesn´t even need an account to do this). Often the edits get undone but sometimes subtle changes survive the reviews.

Do you think Wikipedia is an useful tool for transporting nationalist/racialist ideas to the masses? Please elaborate.

First of all I think Wikipedia should and must be as objective as possible, because it's an encyclopedia, and is used by a lot of people.
And I know a lot of people use it as a source for a lot of things.

But yes, usefull it is, because a lot of people believe (almost) all things who are on wikipedia, especially if it's the only source they use ...

It's a good way to get introduced to a topic you're interested in, but in no way I'd buy anything coming from Wikipedia, as it's a free encyclopedia and that anyone can edit articles. I always use some complementary and relevant sources.

I agree when it comes to disputable topics and because of the free editing Wikipedia is not quotable at all, but one occasionally stumbles over high quality articles at Wikipedia too. For example:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katana
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel

I use it all the time (not, as Zyklop mentioned, professionally) but as an online source of info. Its articles are usually sound because they seem well edited by an eagle eyed crew. The references provided can be even more enlightening so I always go there as well.

I don't think it should be used for racialist purposes as it is an online encyclopaedia and must contain what any other encyclopaedia contains, facts and knowledgeable articles with references. References are always very important when something is written as an article rather than a set of scientifically verifiable facts.

But it can be used to promote things people don't know about like cultural articles and information about personalities.

If you stumble over biased articles click on "edit this page" and add the tag {{POV}} . This way the article gets marked with disputed neutrality and a request for a neutral point of view.

    Lightbulb Editing on Wikipedia

Wikipedia is a very popular although unreliable source of information. Small cliques of editors are able to dominate articles. Why not a clique of Germanic patriots?

For example, a group of 5-10 determined editors could form a consensus in all articles related to race.

On Wikipedia racialist ideas would be able to gain publicity which would cost a huge amount of money in the mainstream media. (In some cases the MSM is not willing to publish even paid advertisements.)

Therefore, editing on Wikipedia is certainly the most productive form of grass roots activism. Even people who aren't experts on Wikipedia can help a lot just stating their agreement with our edits. I and other editors have already achieved major progress in the article about race and intelligence, for example.

The articles which especially need work now:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typology_(anthropology))
(This is the article for the race concept of traditional physical anthropology)
