    Computer Troubles...Need Advice..

    Computers really annoy me!
I recently installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 (home edition) and now I am experiencing problems accessing certain web pages.

I keep receiving "this page cannot be displayed" (check your settings..etc etc). I cannot access my Optus account member link, ebay (signin/My ebay), Msn messenger for example....

I think it may be my security settings that are causing this. I am using the default firewall/settings on the XP 2...

    Can anyone help?

    Cheers!1

Not really that good at computers, but I'll try to help, why not. If you can see some pages and not others, then the set up (I think) should be okay, but the settings may be restricting stuff, too high security settings maybe. You might have to allow cookies, put security on a medium or medium/low level (I forget the actual level). I know for ebay, I can't do the secure sign in if your settings are too restrictive. So I guess you should check those out. You can adjust these in Tools and then in Internet Options. ? :thumbsdow ? :runaway

I've tried everything I can...from setting it to the lowest security to the highest and even turning the firewall off completely and nothing changed. :runaway ... I used to use Norton Security with my original XP 1 and everything worked perfectly...I let my subscription expire (fed up of paying the annual fee for the update) and decided to just go with the XP2 security......Damn!...I wished I had just left my system alone and renewed my Norton.

I might have to call a computer tech in to fix the problem.

This is the best bet. They'll know what to do (trick is to get past the thick Indian accent that they'll have).
