Trying to dig up something on the Kilt in Norway, (as I have read that the custom of wearing the kilt became popular there for a time due to when Norway controlled the Western Isles and Shetland/Orkney IIRC) and found this which I thought interesting...

Norwegian Centennial Tartan

In connection with the Norwegian Centenary as an independant nation, Scottish Kilt Maker David McGill of International Tartans has designed a special tartan; the Norwegian Centennial Tartan.
This special tartan has been created to strengthen the bonds of kinship between Scotland and Norway. The colours stem from the Scottish Saltire flag and the Norwegian flag.
