Post Non-Nordish Blonds? (in European races)

Is blond hair a singularily nordish trait? That's something I was interested in knowing. Is it possible for people who have little or no nordish background to have blond hair? For instance Alpine or Dinaric races? Can/did groups of non-nordish european races develop blond hair from living in northern areas?

I'm not talking about some freak accident. I mean groups of non-nordish people who have blond hair, and their children will have blond hair, etc.

Yes. Some Australian aboriginals that live in the interior of Australia have blond hair. It is not from mixture. I imagine some Europeans are similar.

    It is quite good.

Blondism isn't exclusive to nordics. I'm probably the last person you would ask, but there are other subraces (and races, like Cosmo mentioned) that have developed their own depigmintation. East Baltics are an example.

East Baltics are peripheal(sp?) nordish, aren't they? Just a step beyond being central, and two steps from just being Nordic...?

Yes that blond hair with Aboriginals is well seen...I personally think they got it from sitting too much in the sun, ...Alot of them have blondish/reddish tones in their hair...also light eyes...(mainly Tasmanian ones).... though the English settler couldn't wait to wipe them out.

Blondism, amongst non-Europeanoids, is not such a rara avis as some would have you believe. Besides Australian aboriginals it can be also found amongst some Japanese, although it tends to be a characteristic of early childhood. Yukio Mishima was blond as an infant. Amongst Arabs and South Americans etc it is more problematic as there could easily be a nordish genetic component at work through previous migrations.

I recently saw some pictures of blond Uighurs, although that could be explained by ancient Tocharian genetic inflences.

There are no Tasmanian aborigines. They were mostly exterminated barring a handful who died out on Flinders Island. There are people in Tasmania who say that they are aborigines because they are descended from a Tasmanian aboriginal woman married to a white man in the 1800s. They are not racially aboriginal at all.

The aborigines who have blondism are a small group of inland aborigines and the blondism is not retained in adulthood except in a few women. Blue eyes is not an aboriginal feature except where mixing with Europeans has occurred.
