What in your opinion is the best factory load for the following pistol calibers? I'm particularly interested in 9mm loads. Corbon, Speer Gold Dot, Glaser safety slug(overly expensive) and Federal Hydroshock.

To be honest, the only load I have used out those is Federal HydroShock, for the .45 ACP and 9mm. I usually end up buying cheaper foreign ammo at gun shows for the 9mm, and end up plinking it away in no time. I use the .45 for personal protection, and then it's always going to be HydroShock.

My favorite brand for plinking ammo in the 9mm is Sellior and Bellot very accurate stuff. In the past I've used Remington 115 JHP for 9mm defense loads, but I've been thinking of buying some Corbon +P or Speer Gold Dot.

Now that I have thought about it, I have indeed used Corbon +P for 9mm. I remember it being decent stuff, but nothing too extraordinary.

    best loads

I guess it all depends on what you're doingwith the ammo. For target practice & just plinking you can get a couple boxes of Winchester rounds for around $10.00 but for personal protection I'll trust my life to hydrashock.

    Irish,

What are the gun laws in Utah?

Here in Arizona pretty open, no bars or fed buildings. What about there?

Getting ready to go into the lions den in Blanding and I know he has heat, the ex said nothing like what I have (lets just say when I get ready to go plinking it is like watching a woman finding the right shoes).

I love my twins, both .45's. One is a "Bowling Pin" (long barrel) the other is a Colt Commander (short barrel).....

    gun laws.

The gun laws here are'nt too bad. The Utah D.A.B.C. are kinda touchy about any firearms or ammo in a business that sells alcohol, even if it's an employees weapon. I personally like my Glock 40.

    45 vs 40 cal

Well, I admit I used to be a real fan of the Glock pistol. That was before I bought a Rock Island Armory 1911. Ihave sold my Glock & am now collecting 1911s.
