Women May Not Be So Picky After All About Choosing A Mate

Men and women may not be from two different planets after all when it comes to choosiness in mate selection, according to new research. Women, it turned out, were not any pickier than men in choosing that special someone to date, according to the speed dating study.

... they really love to stay amongst themselves, don't they?

Secondly - I thought that was kind of obvious. The way they're trying to interpret it is obviously in an attempt to further diminish gender differences, claiming that there are no difference between males and females.

Even then, they are unable to discard the fact that it is socially seen as required that the man make the first move - whether to notice each other first, or whether to actually start something. Most men are actually uncomfortable, even if the girl is the one to introduce herself first. That kind of makes her seem a little assertive.

The men are in a way just as picky as the women - just that we've already sort of made up our mind whilst we sat at our table and observed the girls in the vicinity. The one which seems most like her gestures/body language imply that she could be "applicable material" is the one that is eventually approached.

After that, it's kind of the woman who chooses in the "getting to know part" of it: The man often makes simple statements about himself, the woman asks more question to learn about the man. The sentence "And yourself?" is more likely to come from the man than from the woman, who will ask more specific questions.

The man conquers the woman, the woman tries to catch him. So all the other studies were obviously closer to factual nature. The man is the one who says Hi, the one who asks for her number, the one who makes the move, the woman is the examining part as regards his actions.

So yea - perhaps women aren't pickier than men when it comes to biological predisposition ... but does it really matter, if established and proven social norms, again based upon other biologicial predispositions and instincts, establish the pickiness of women?
-In kalte Schatten versunken...
