Seriously: I find it disgusting how actual cartoons praise multiethnical families - not only this cartoon. The multiculti-propaganda of the media is already targeting the children.

I can remind me back to the early 90ies and it´s cartoons (nearly all of them were made in the 80ies, like She-Ra). Most cartoons had no non-white influence. Good old times.

Ja, quite sad the way this is happening, saddest part is, you can't do anything about it. I fear the future for this new generation coming.

The kid is adopted, maybe. The mother is clearly an albino & the black character has a very non-Negroid jaw & cheekbones (I can't believe I'm racially classifying cartoon characters... ).

I'm going with the theory that the Asian kid is adopted and the redhead is from the wife's first marriage. Ooh, and the husband is a tanorexic.

It really doesn't bother me. What bothers me is when they have impossible rainbow families. If you have to make the mom and dad different races at least TRY to make the kid look like it could be their's.

Then again, they could be basing it of of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's family.

If that's the case, then there's nothing wrong with this picture

I keep wondering why the creators of this cartoon decided on the family being mixed race. My imagination stuck to these possibilities:

    1) the creators wanted to have the option of calling the network managers/critics racist had their dumb cartoon been turned down,

    2) the original artist started out with a traditional family, but then the network threatened to turn them down if they didn't change it to being multicultural (to keep with their "hip" image),

    3) the artist/producer/investor is a black guy who likes to imagine he can wear superhero-tights and get with white women.

... Or perhaps I'm thinking too much in terms of how it would have been, had this been a South African cartoon.

It's most likely a mixture of these two considering it's being aired on Cartoon Network, owned by Time Warner.
