The worst non- Norwegian book I've read is

    My Life By: Bill Clinton

The title '' My Life'' is very hilarious
What a cocky bastard. He just wakes up one day and says: "I'm so into myself.. I should write a book about my life" autobiographies suck in my opinion Sorry Bill.

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank - by the sappy end of it I was almost glad she was a one-hit wonder...

The Dhammapada (Wisdom of the Buddha) - I'm not a spiritually or philosophically empty/ignorant person, but this was some of the worst 'wisdom' I've ever run across.

I liked Frank McCourt's "Angela's Ashes" and "Tis" and I might get around to the final volume "Teacher Man" someday as well.

Michael J. Fox wrote a pretty good and seemingly honest account of living with Parkensen's, and Michael Caine's 'What's it all about' is a fairly down to earth account of his life as well.

I my opinion, if the person writing it has led an interesting life and is capable of being honest, for 300-500 pages then an autobiography has a lot of insight to offer a reader. However, the majority of people are not even capable of being honest with themselves about themselves let alone with the general public, and Bill Clinton is among this majority.

"My Life" could have been subtitled, "How I overcame every conceivable unfair disadvantage to become the greatest U.S President since Lincoln."

I never finished the Quran or it would be at the top of my list. KDRebel is the worst book I have ever read.

Another worst book ''The Alchemist'' by Paulo Coelho is terrible. My mind couldn't consume it.

The worst book I ever read was some cheap SF-novel I picked up in a second hand bookstore. A hideous story about an alien monster found at the bottom of a mining shaft.

Second to that it was Misery by Stephen King.
It was given to me by my cousin when I was in hospital recovering from a traffic accident and I really hated that book. It's not just the storyline I just can't stand the way King writes.

Resistance, Rebellion, and Death by Albert Camus.

In fact all of his books made me want to commit suicide in some dreadfully protracted and painful way.
"...The moral man is a lower species than the immoral, a weaker species; indeed - he is a type in regard to morality, but not a type in himself; a copy...the measure of his value lies outside him. ... I assess the power of a will by how much resistance, pain, torture it endures and knows how to turn to its advantage; I do not account the evil and painful character of existence a reproach to it, but hope rather that it will one day be more evil and painful than hitherto..." (Nietzsche)

The Stranger by Camus is possibly one of the worst I've read. I can't think of any other bad books I've read mainly because if it's too terribly bad I simply will not keep reading it.

    The Great Gatsby is terrible.
