  • Tombs of Descendants of Rollo the Viking Will Be DNA Tested

    http://www.explicofund.org/famoushistoricalfigures1.jpg

King William the Conqueror changed the course of England forever with his campaign in 1066 CE and the later Doomsday Book. One of his ancestors on his fathers side was the Viking Rollo.

Explico will attempt to find out if Rollo the Viking was Danish or Norwegian to settle a dispute that has been going on for centuries in Scandinavia. this we will do my retrieving DNA from corpses of his descendents.
Apparently his nationality has been a big source of contention for quite awhile. Neat.

It will be interesting for me to check my ydna results with his if they release the STR numbers. My y-dna indicates a scandinavian origin that found its way into England with some Germanic group thousands of years ago.

Aah, very interesting. I prefer Gange Rolf or Hrolf to Rollo though.

My girlfriend is supposed to be a descendant ^^
Please don't confuse the terms "nordid" and "nordic".
