Im not sure if its me but, it seems woman and the men of the past are somehow shaped differently than the common woman of today. Less soft more sculptured.

More inclined to a nature trail in body shapes?
I think Stratz picked out the individuals closest to his personal liking, like Pieter Paul Rubens' who choosed to depict his robust, maternal Idealtype.
