I've read a little bit about the National Socialists in Germany favoring the Nordids over the Alpinids.
I'm wondering why they thought the Nordids were better in worth to the Alpinids.
Would this mean they would have thought a North German, or a Norwegian for example was better than a Bavarian?

First of all, location does not equal race. There are Nordids in Bavaria and there are Alpines in North Germany and Norway, called "Strandids" in that case. Sure, there are more Nordids in North Germany and Norway, but it depends on each case.
Second, there were "hardcore" Nordicists in the Third Reich, favouring the (generalized) Nordics over anybody else, but the more popular view was more towards the German(ic) folk united in ancestry and spirit more than anything else. But the Nordic race was always the Ideal, but as far as I know there weren't many restrictions for Germans of another German race (simplified: Faelid, Dinarid, Alpine, Meditteranid, East Baltid), except for joining the SS, where the more progressive races were favored, especially the Nordic. It was different in each case though and depended ultimately on the "harmony" of the mixture. But even in the SS some exceptions were made in case of personal merits.
Quite a healthy attitude in comparison with todays egalitarianism if you ask me.
