View Full Version : How to Submit a Request/Inquiry/Complaint to the Staff

Thursday, January 31st, 2008, 08:18 PM
To submit a request/inquiry to the Staff, go to the Skadi Staff page (http://forums.skadi.net/showgroups.php) and choose a moderator to send it to. Make sure to check their profile in order to see their last visit date as well as their forum status and establish who is more available at the moment.

If you are requesting the removal of your pictures, editing of your posts or reporting misbehavior, etc. make sure that you include a link to the post in question. The name of a thread or even the link to the thread in question doesn't always suffice. It can become highly time consuming to look over a thread with hundreds of replies in order to find a post, so it is highly recommendable that you post the link to the post(s) in question. To find the link of a single post, right click on its # on the right, as in the screenshot below.

Choose to copy the link location/shortcut and paste it in the message to the moderator. A link to a single post will look like this example:
http://forums.skadi.net/showpost.php?p=810834&postcount=1 (http://forums.skadi.net/showpost.php?p=41070&postcount=1)

To submit a complaint, always contact the moderator who warned/infracted you first. If you received a warning or infraction from a moderator, contact them privately. Do not post your complaint in the threads which fell under moderation or in any public area or they will be ignored/removed.

If you are dissatisfied with the explanation and approach of a moderator (Herūra), you may contact the Witenagemot as per rule #31 of the Skadi Rules. Do not send moderation complaints without having discussed with the moderator first and without including a history of your conversations with them.

N.B. The Help & Suggestions forum is for general forum-related complaints and grievances, such as reporting errors and bugs. It is not the place to complain about a moderator's disciplinary action against you.

The "Contact Us" form shall only be used to submit requests/inquiries/complaints to the administration. It can only be read by the administration, so do not send messages destined for moderators there.
Make sure to pick the right subject when writing. Here is a brief list of the requests/inquiries/notifications that should only be submitted to the administration (moderators cannot technically perform/review these):
- name changes
- account activation problems and any account problems in general
- forum errors and bugs
- copyright complaints or any other legal-related complaints

All other requests should be submitted to moderators.

Before submitting an inquiry to the Staff, make sure to check the Skadi Mission Statement & Rules (http://forums.skadi.net/showthread.php?t=2729), Disclaimer (http://forums.skadi.net/showthread.php?t=44924), Privacy Statement (http://forums.skadi.net/showthread.php?t=54660), Frequently Asked Questions (http://forums.skadi.net/faq.php) and search the Help & Suggestions (http://forums.skadi.net/forumdisplay.php?f=231) forum, as your answer might be found there.

Lastly, please be patient. Remember that the Staff have private lives and obligations to attend to just like any other, so we cannot always be available to answer. Even if we are online, we might still be busy with other forum tasks or complaints, so give it some time until you receive a reply.
