I recently found an interesting Video Game on the Web.
It is called World In Conflict, and deals with a full out Nuclear and conventional War between the USSR and USA. The game occurs in 1989, before the fall of the Berlin Wall. The game seems to be some what accurate, in the since it is playing off of the “Hollow Force Years” which the United States experienced after Vietnam. The problem I have with the concept is that by 1989 the Cold War was essentially over, escalated by the election of Ronald Regan and the massive build up that the US Military went through during that period.

The scenario would have been possible though under a two term Jimmy Carter presidency, or even more so under a Walter Mondale /Geraldine Ferraro Administration, who as we know were defeated in a landslide by Regan.

Under Kennedy's presidence would have been better. If you win, Marylin Monroe dances for you in a Cuban beach.
