With me its usually dramas and/or war-theme films; and especially anything taking place in the 19th century or before. I don't know, I guess I got my fascination with the 19th century from my mother. :D

Same with me. American war films are pathetic. Ironically because they place too much emphasis on explosions and violence. I like war films that actually have a story behind it!
