View Full Version : How Can I Upload My Own Custom Avatar?

Monday, September 11th, 2006, 10:26 PM
Hi there,

I'm new to this forum. Can someone please help me with my avatar? I want to use the avatar that I posted in this thread but I can't upload it. I can only chose from a large list of germanic avatars. Please, some moderator or administrator help me.

This is the avatar I want ... I'm nothing without my barrel :~(

See the Skadi FAQ, Why can't I upload an avatar (http://forums.skadi.net/faq.php?faq=skadi_faq#faq_new_faq_item_a vatar)? You will be able to upload your own avatar when you become a Regular Member (http://forums.skadi.net/faq.php?faq=skadi_faq#faq_new_faq_item_r egular).

Hail Abroad.

Would like to put my own Aryan picture up as Avatar.
Im son of Odin and donít impose as him necessarily.
Honour for him. And my own Ariske creation.

How come I donít find the option?

Can some helpful spirit chant a little.

In the FAQs you will find the following:

There are two kinds of avatars: those provided by the administrator and those that you upload yourself. The first category may be used by New and Junior Members. If you are a New or Junior Member, you may select an avatar from the first category. Custom avatar usage is restricted to Regulars, Staff and Funding Members.

So, once you have enough posts to be a regular, you can upload your own avatar. :)

It seems every forum ive ever visited I have to ask for help one way or another, this is down to me being totally inept regarding the workings of a computer. As is such this is by no means a complaint, and please forgive my illiteracy in advance. The problem ive got is i cant use my chosen custom avatar(there is no link icon?) I have used this avatar on other forums.I do realise that i am under moderation and might be able to edit later on.Plus when i click on a smiley it wont register on my post

Customs avatars are available only for Regular members. Here is more info on Regulars:

I am not sure about your smiley problem, but you could try adding the bbcode for smilies and it should work then. The bbcode for each of the smilies can be found here (see "What to type"):

Ok, tanks ;)

Of course the rule for becoming regularmember must be fully respected; one shall not bombard and saturate the forum with pointless posts in order to become a "regular member" by "the number of posts edited" criteria :D
