Baltic Germans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Germans) were an old aristocratic and upper class living in the Baltic (and ruling it; developing it). They were fully and racially Germanic.

Does anyone know if there still are cohesive communities of Baltic Germans living somewhere? It would be most interesting.

Most of them emmigrated after the communist revolution and finally at the end of WW2 to escape the red army. Nowadays they are organized, like most German refugees, in so called "Landsmannschaften", which preserve the local customs, traditions and the memory of these ethnic groups.
