NORDICS ALTERED BY ADMIXTURE WITH SOUTH WESTERN BORREBY AND ALPINE ELEMENTS

In southern Netherlands and in Belgium, as well as in northern France, there is a large-headed bracycephalic element transittional between the Borreby and alpine forms. (See Plate 13, Fig. 4) In mixture with Nordics this produces a large-headed brachycephalic or sub-brachycephalic type of only moderate blondism and medium stature.

FIG. 1 (3 views) Southern Netherlander from North Brabant. An excellent example of this altered Nordic type.

FIG 4. (3 views) A northern Frenchman, whose father came from the Vosges mountains, and mother from the Department of Indre. Blond, highly brachycephalic, and Nordic in most facial features, this man represents a major element in the population of northern France. This is the type which some French authors call "Galatian". Historically the Nordic element is mainly of Keltic introduction.

Interesting post, I think my brother (more on the borreby-side) and the french girl (more on the alpinoid side) that visited us this summer are examples of borreby/alpinoid + nordid. Their phenotype looks almost similar.

Lundman found Alpine strains(of Danish inspiration?) in Scania but i have yet to see a Swede that i would classify Sub-Nordic. I also don't think Borreby is an important element anywhere in Sweden. Even in Scania the mean C.I. is too low for them to be present in any significant numbers.

If we handed out awards to members who wrote threads with the nerdiest titles, I believe you would be a king, Väringr. :D Cheers, mate.
