This was made some time ago (1968) but is a pretty decent and entertaining crime caper from Mario Bava. Diabolik (the film was based on the comic book character) is a master-criminal and thief who usually stays one step ahead of the bungling police out to catch him. The whole affair is pretty stylish. He has the exclusive underground pad next to the sea, the super-hot girlfriend, fancy cars (Jag E-Types) etc. To top it all off he has no qualms about killing whoever gets in his way while going about his trade.

Upon watching this, it becomes clear how many elements of this film Mike Myers ripped off to create his buffoonish "Austin Powers" saga. Fortunately, this film is very much better.

There are a couple of great characters in the film, such as Terry Thomas (with the trademark gap between his teeth) and Adolfo Celi (master criminal from Thunderball).

Highly recommended for anyone interested in not too serious stylish entertainment from the '60s. :D

Have you seen The Silencers (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060980/) starring Dean Martin? :D

Is this one at all similar?
