Funny, it says Photography from Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Greenland and Faroe Islands. Then you click some of the links at the bottom and get images like this:

I agree there are many good images there but I don't see how the ones in the links above fit the theme.

Maybe that pics were made by photographers from Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Greenland or Faroe Islands? Anyway I also agree they are not suitable for the "nordish-photo" theme.

Aw, lighten up. Just give 'em a few million years to catch up, then you'll see :rotfl:

At the rate their populations are growing, and at the rate ours are declining, you might be right... :frown:

Look closer at foto 36500. This child is allready dead as the one caring for her safety is not of our seed. It make me sick to see our flesh touched against such filth. This website is poison. I spit on its maker and on its fotos.

Actually, that's the camera lighting. I've looked at about 5,000 of the pictures on that sight so far, and it happens alot. They have other pictures of that baby, and she indeed is being cared for by 'people of our seed'. The camera lighting is dimmed to emphasize the subject, thus making their hands look darker than they are. Rest easy, friend; she is in good hands. :viking1:

It really isn't that bad a site. They have some really cool pictures of what appear to be Finnish Vikings. Here's some of the better ones.

Seems like a very fine site to me, I however just briefly searched for pictures of Iceland and its people, didn’t come across any vermin, just blonde headed children and a few farm animals :animal-sm

These fotos of the children are so cute. Why is Sverige first in the foto at the flags? I wonder if this is random or if the orderings has a meaning.

Vikings were those, and only those who raided raided Western Europe. Also some Balts and Estonians could be called as Vikings because they were pirates in the Baltic sea.

But still, I like those pictures very much. Could you give the link to these pictures? I wouldn't want to go through all pictures in that site. I'd rather wait the others to pick the best ones

Let me refer you to an article by Wiseman (of the TNP, no less!); I think you will find it most interesting. :viking1:

Read here. (http://www.forums.skadi.net/showthread.php?t=6912)Wiseman wrote an excellent essay about the Viking age in Finland. I also commented the essay ;). Viking age is an era (about 800-1025 AD) when Norsemen were a dominant sea power in Western Europe and liked to raid especially monasteries in England. Vikings were pirates - a social group, not a tribe. I doubt Finns were raiding monasteries, though nothing is impossible. Not all people who lived during that time were Vikings, not even all north Germanic people. During Viking Age Finns' interests were east, where the silver came. Eastern trade brought prosperity, there were no need for raiding monasteries ;)

But this has much nothing to do with the topic, back to pictures
