Lyrics:

Svenska: Herr Mannelig

Bittida en morgon innan solen upprann
Innan foglarna började sjunga
Bergatrollet friade till fager ungersven
Hon hade en falskeliger tunga

|: Herr Mannelig herr Mannelig trolofven i mig

Ej heller betsel uti munnen

Eder vill jag gifva de qvarnarna tolf
Som stå mellan Tillö och Ternö
Stenarna de äro af rödaste gull
Och hjulen silfverbeslagna

Eder vill jag gifva ett förgyllande svärd
Som klingar utaf femton guldringar
Och strida huru I strida vill
Stridsplatsen skolen i väl vinna

|: Herr Mannelig herr Mannelig trolofven i mig
För det jag bjuder så gerna
I kunnen väl svara endast ja eller nej
Om i viljen eller ej :|

Deutsch: Herr Mannelig

Einmal früh morgens vor Sonnenaufgang,
bevor der Vögel lied erklang
Machte die Bergtrollin dem Ritter einen Antrag
Sie sprach mit gespalltener Zunge.

|: Ritter Mannelig, Ritter Mannelig, bitte heirate mich

|: Ritter Mannelig, Ritter Mannelig, bitte heirate mich

English: Sir Mannelig

Early one morning before the sun did rise
And the birds sang their sweet song
The mountain troll proposed to the fair squire
She had a false deceitful tongue

|: Sir Mannelig, Sir Mannelig won`t you marry me
For all that I`ll gladly give you
You may answer only yes or no
Will you do so or no :|

To you I will give the twelve great steeds
That graze in a shady grove
Never has a saddle been mounted on their backs
Nor had a bit in their mouths

To you I will give the twelve fine mills
That stand between Tillo and Terno
The mill stones are made of the reddest brass
And the wheels are silver-laden

To you I will give the gilded sword
That jingles from fifteen gold rings
And strike with it in battle as you will
On the battlefield you will conquer

To you I will give a brand new shirt
The lustrous best for to wear
It is not sewn with needle or thread
But crocheted of the whitest silk

Gifts such as these I would gladly receive
If you were a Christian woman
But I know you are the worst mountain troll
From the spawn of Necken and the devil

The mountain troll ran out the door
She wailed and she shrieked so loudly
"Had I gotten that handsome squire
From my torment I would be free now"

|: Sir Mannelig, Sir Mannelig won`t you marry me
For all that I`ll gladly give you
You may answer only yes or no
Will you do so or no :|

Taake - Nattestid Ser Porten Vid

Nattestid I (http://www.skadi.us/~kriegsmaschine/Taake_NattestidI.mp3)

Part 1
Den syvende tind er besteget
Den syvende port
Staar aapen i sin prakt
Vogtet og iakttatt
Av tiurens aarvaakte blikk
For veien er gullbelagt
Trollkatt ei sol har skapt
Jager vaaret
Oede vinters maaneskimm
Kjoelner sitt laken saa doedt
Dagen er kvelt
Natter er vores igjen
Og vanaere lurer
Bak hvert kaldt tre
Under de hatske fjells
Storkronede tinder
Gudfryktigt de var naa
Skammens lik
Over bjoergvin graater himmelrik
Tro og frender
Til kirkegaard baeres
Vond tid venter naer
Paa dem som stirret seg blinde
For aa se gud

Rock Me Amadeus (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/raceandpolitics/files/Falco - Rock Me Amadeus.mp3)

80s forever, baby!

Germans can even do Pop, whadda ya know. :)

(Original German/English version)

Ooo rock me Amadeus
Rock me Amadeus...
Rock rock rock rock me Amadeus
Rock me all the time to the top

Er war ein Punker
Und er lebte in der großen Stadt
Es war Wien, war Vienna
Wo er alles tat
Er hatte Schulden denn er trank
Doch ihn liebten alle Frauen
Und jede rief: Come on and rock me Amadeus

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Er war Superstar
Er war populär
Er war so exaltiert
Because er hatte Flair
Er war ein Virtuose
War ein Rockidol
Und alles rief:
Come on and rock me Amadeus

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Come on and rock me Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Es war um 1780
Und es war in Wien
No plastic money anymore
Die Banken gegen ihn
Woher die Schulden kamen
War wohl jedermann bekannt
Er war ein Mann der Frauen
Frauen liebten seinen Punk

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Come and rock me Amadeus....

Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Ja ja ja
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus...

Falco (1957-1998)

http://www.aboutaustria.org/images/falco.jpg

If early '80s pop smelled of cheese, Falco was Gouda.

Western television abounds in cheese: early MTV-era music videos, the original Batman series, and any and all British science fiction dramas. Lacking in quality but gutsy enough to go out there anyway and try to capture your affection. Gotta love 'em. And you've got to love Falco.
Born Johann Holzel in 1957, he left his native Austria for West Berlin in the mid '70s, playing bass for rock, jazz, and punk bands. After borrowing the name Falco from an East German skier, he headed back to Vienna and embarked on a solo career in which he made a name for himself by rapping in German to your standard Euro-disco. One of his early successes was "Der Komissar," a dance club favorite reminiscent of "Super Freak" which was later to become an even bigger hit in the hands of English-speaking one-hit-wonders After the Fire. After seeing the success of After the Fire's bilingual cover - the song made the top ten in the US - Falco embraced English and had a pair of bilingual international hits with cheese-classics "Vienna Calling" and "Rock Me Amadeus." The guy had enough cajones to declare - in the song - that his release of "Rock Me Amadeus" was among the more notable events associated with the life of fellow Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

From my younger, romantic days. :)

Foreigner - I Wanna Know What Love Is (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/racial_studies/files/Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is.mp3)

I’ve gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I’d better read between the lines
In case I need it when I’m older
Ooooh, this mountain I must climb
Feels like the world upon my shoulder
But through the clouds I see loves shine
It keeps me warm as life grows colder
In my life there’s been heartache and pain
I don’t know if I can face it again
Can’t stop now I’ve travelled so far
to change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is, I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is, I know you can show me, oooh
I’m gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
I’ve got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me
In my life, there’s been heartache and pain
I don’t know if I can face it again
I can’t stop now
I’ve travelled so far,
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is, I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is, I know you can show me
I wanna know what love is, I want you to show me
And I wanna feel, I wanna feel what love is
And I know , I know you can show me
Let’s talk about love
I wanna know what love is, love that you feel inside
I want you to show me
And I’m feeling so much love
I wanna feel what love is, No you just can’t hide
I know you can show me
I wanna know what love is
Let’s talk about love
I know you can show me
I wanna feel it, I wanna feel what love is
I wanna feel it too
And I know and I know
I know you can show me
Show me that it’s real
I wanna know what love is
I wanna know, I want you to show me

http://www.foreigneronline.com/images/timeline_foreigner.jpg

Formed in 1976, the band was made up of experienced British musicians Mick Jones and Ian McDonald, and four relative newcomers to the arena of major rock, British musician Dennis Elliott, and Americans Ed Gagliardi, Lou Gramm and Alan Greenwood. Less than a year after getting together, the five released their first album "Foreigner" [March 7, 1977] and within months had two top-ten hit singles.

And another...

Foreigner - That Was Yesterday (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/racial_studies/files/Foreigner - That Was Yesterday.mp3)

I thought I knew you well
But all this time I could never tell
I let you get away
Haunts me every night and every day

You were the only one
The only friend I counted on
How could I watch you walk away
I'd give anything to have you here today

But now I stand alone with my pride
And dream that you're still by my side

But that was yesterday
I had the world in my hands
But it's not the end of my world
Just a slight change of plans
That was yesterday
But today life goes on
No more hiding in yesterday
'Cause yesterday's gone, ooooh!

Love, my love I gave it all
Thought I saw the light, when I heard you call
Life that we both could share
Has deserted me, left me in despair

But now I stand alone with my pride
Fighting back the tears I never let myself cry

But that was yesterday
Love was torn from my hands
But it's not the end of my world
Just a little hard to understand
That was yesterday
But today life goes on
You won't find me in yesterday's world
Now yesterday's gone
Goodbye yesterday
Now it's over and done
Still I hope somewhere deep in your heart
Yesterday will live on, ooooh!

Lokk

Eg veit eit sted oppe i mellan asen
Auge ljose i morkret, "Vil du staden sja?"
Eg vert so varm, kjenner kor hjartet banker
Kom, kom hit hja meg, ta meg i den favn

In English:

Calling

I know a place up inbetween the hills
Where the gulls cry and the trees cast shadows
I know a boy, the kindest of them all
Eyes shining in the darkness, "Do you want to see the town?"
I wait till the day is over before I travel towards the town
Sitting down on the stone, I wonder if he comes?
I grow so warm, feeling how the heart beats
Come, come here to me, take me in your embrace

This is a song from a children's movie called `Mio min Mio' (Mio in the Land of Faraway) based on a saga written by Astrid Lindgren.

It's about a boy who escapes his dull life with his adoptive parents when he one day goes to a country far away where his real biological father is the King.

Gemini - Mio min mio.mp3 (ftp://jfre_web1000_com:fred84487@ftp.web1000.c om/gemini_-_mio_min_mio.mp3) (In Swedish)

Mio min Mio

Genom rosengården
med silverpopplar
går jag med min fader
Håller hårt hans hand
Och från det högsta trädet
hör jag en ensam fågel
sjunga om det grymma
Landet Utanför
Och mitt hjärta darrar
när min faders röst jag hör

Mio min Mio

Över rosengården
börjar det att skymma
Och jag ser min fågel
svinga sig mot skyn
På sina breda vingar
flyger den rakt mot himlen
Flyger mot det svarta
Landet Utanför
Och mitt hjärta darrar
när min faders röst jag hör

Word-by-word translation:

Mio My Mio

Through the garden of roses
with silver poplars
I walk with my father
Strongly holding his hand
And from the highest tree
I hear a lonely bird
singing of the cruel
Land Outside
And my heart is trembling
when I hear the voice of my father

Mio my Mio

Over the garden of roses
it begins to get dark
And I see my bird
swing itself to the sky
With its wide wings
it flies straight to the sky
Flies towards the black
Land Outside
And my heart is trembling
when I hear the voice of my father

Epistle No. 81

[4:30]

Mark how our shadow, Mark Movits mom frere
One small darkness encloses
How gold and purple that shovel there
To rags and rubbish disposes

Charon beckons from tumultuous waves
Then thrice this ancient digger of graves
For thee ne'er grapeskin shall glister
Wherefore my Movits come help me to raise
A gravestone over our sister

Even desirous and modest adobe
Under the sighing branches
Where time and death, a marriage forebode
Twixt beauty and ugliness ashes

To thee ne'er jealousy findeth her way
Nor happiness footstep, swift to stray
Flitteth amid these barrows
E'en enmity armed, as thou seest this day
Piously breaketh her arrow

The little bell echoes the great bells groan
Robed in the door the precentor
Noisome with quiristers prayerful moan
Blesses those, who enter

The way to this templed city of tombs
Climbs amid roses yellowing blooms
Fragments of mouldering biers
Till black-clad each mourner,
His station assumes
Bows there deeply in tears

Black

Hey...oooh...
Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me as her body once did
All five horizons revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn
Ooh, and all I taught her was everything
Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything?
Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...

I take a walk outside
I’m surrounded by some kids at play
I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin round my head
I’m spinning, oh, I’m spinning
How quick the sun can, drop away
And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass
Of what was everything (note the lack of question mark)
All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...
All the love gone bad turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all I’ll ever be...yeah...

Uh huh...uh huh...ooh...
I know someday you’ll have a beautiful life, I know you’ll be a star
In somebody else’s sky, but why
Why, why can’t it be, why can’t it be mine

Nargaroth_VomFreienWillenEinesSchwarzenE inhorns (http://www.skadi.us/~kriegsmaschine/Nargaroth_vomFreienWillenEinesSchwarzenE inhorns.mp3)

...Vom Freien Willen Eines Schwarzen Einhorns

The surrounding walls for yet unknown qualities.
Have you ever been gifted to watch upon them?
Or the elements, so oppressive, but still not known.
Was there ever this moment they cared to let you inside?

Mother Nature's son or just a savage diving into
the wilderness, we do adore so much?
There were times of hesitation and of union...
They did enjoy the combination when one hand was
given ingratitude or even?

Will the era come ...? That of, when man shall
become aware of Her ways and his instincts.
Literature may hold the final words for a glorious
reunion, but do gather forces and..
strive for knowledge wide.
Await my gentle coming "journey", for...

...Once, when all those in the circle of four
greets a welcome through the Entrance, I
will be this one who gathers up with them
and then to become their fifth and last
comrade of spirituality.

Forever, and into the oblivion of infinity.

On my site I have a little music page, where I upload one or more mp3s. I change the song(s) about every 2 weeks. Most of them are recorded from my CDs, a few I have downloaded with kazaa lite (http://www.k-lite.tk/). I listen to European folk music, classical, various genres of 'techno', jazz, various genres of rock (excluding punk and 'emo' :|), blues, Motown (http://directory.google.com/Top/Arts/Music/Styles/Pop/Motown/?tc=1), a couple of rap songs, 80's-90's dance and pop, country balads, military marches, choral music, etc.. A little bit of everything basically! :)

The one below is a brutal song by the awesome Maltese Death Grind band Beheaded, take care not to destroy things as you listen this song and you're into it, for the extreme metalheads aboard.

Beheaded! Seems like forever since I heard anyone mention Beheaded. Their style has changed somewhat since I last heard them about 6 or 7 years ago, but their brand of death metal, while not new or innovative, is still great for it's purposes. If you ask me though, they are basically copying the Fleshgrind style now.

Taake is the most amazing norwegian folk/black metal band there is, and Hoest is a brilliant songwriter.

I have heard their new stuff is more brutal then before by a friend who listened to the new stuff, I love their last album even though I am not much into Death Metal myself, I prefer Black Metal. But I'll say that Beheaded kick ass I've seen them live around 5 or 6 times, I got all their stuff except their first demo and maybe I can get that.

This is from the Arckanum demo, Trulen (The Trolls). It is very raw and underproduced pagan black metal (as it was meant to be) and I do believe that this mp3 is taken directly from a vinyl record, since I do not believe that Trulen was released on any other format but vinyl. Enjoy.

This song is almost 10 minutes in length, and is probably the best neo-pagan/folk black metal song ever written.

You're truly sick to the core, girl. I hope that fades when you finally get out of puberty.

Puberty usually is a time for 12-15 year old girls, perhaps you're thinking of adolescence. :|

Your opinion of my musical tastes really means something to me, too. :~(

Well, ladygaga33, this is a common misconception. Maybe next time you should ask an endocrinologist. Puberty (which means basically hormonal changes) can last well into the 20s, adolescence (reerring to the mental/psychological changes) can last till the late 30s. In other words: I think your hormonal shifting isn't done yet.

It ought to.
