View Full Version : Signature Images

If you are a funding member and you wonder why your graphical signature image was replaced by a link, then this is because we do no longer allow tags in signatures. They will be automatically replaced by [URL] tags.

You are still able to use [I]one graphical signature image, but it has to be uploaded here (http://forums.skadi.net/profile.php?do=editsignature) and added with the [SIGPIC] tag. An image dimension restriction of 500x150 px applies. This is more than sufficient to add a typical signature banner (the standard banner size is 468x60), but it will prevent that the layout is broken and that members are bothered by giant images.

In addition, the measure will prevent that members can use a plurality of images in their signatures (which was always against the rules).

There are several other restrictions in place now -- you will in particular not be able to use giant font sizes (again, this was always not allowed but there was so far no way to reject such signatures automatically).

We will start to delete all existing signatures that are not rule-compliant or compliant with the new settings within a week. If you are unsure if your signature is compliant, we ask you to go here (http://forums.skadi.net/profile.php?do=editsignature) and resubmit it. If it is accepted, it is fine. If not, you will have to adjust it.

Good idea.

Some of the old signature graphics were so long that the thread text would sometimes go beyond the width of the PC monitor/screen, so you had to scroll back and forth to read every single line.

Limiting the graphic size solves that problem.

I got a pager message from Thorburn. Regulars can now use a signature picture, too. :)

And Juniors can use a brief signature.

You know, the guy below is armed, and he will not like it if he can't stay in my sig anymore :-O
A revolutionary shock-trooper like that is likely to do anything... :D
