View Full Version : I need Pics and Measurements

Does anybody have pics and measurements? I need them for my thread. Anglo-Saxons, for example, I only have for that one guy.

I'm also questioning some of the classifications. Like this guy below. He's classified as Brunn and is in all measurements except his facial ones. I actually wonder if he's signicantly Nordic to give him a narrow face.

I want a favor, Cosmo.

We need a sticky in here that shows how to take all of these various measurements and which instruments to use. A step-by-step guide-thingy - can/do you want to do that?

Also, a list of explanations of the common terms would be helpful.

Good job, Cosmo. Thanks!

I made them into separate threads and stuck them as closed - for reference only.

Cosmo, what are the names of those tools that are pictured? Those should be listed.

Good job, Cosmo. Thanks!

You're welcome. It was an excellent suggestion. Dalonord has added to it.

The tool measuring the woman's face has got to be a caliper. The one measuring the man's skull, I don't know. Maybe it's some type caliper too. Maybe Frans knows.

I just did a bit of a comparison of the measurements I posted. There is a lot of overlap. I expected there'd be some since we're all Europids but there seems to be too much. All I can think of is to narrow the ranges. Maybe removed the highest number and the lowest number for each type. There has to be something wrong because we can look at a pic and know that a certain type belongs within a certain category and not another.

I've tweek the measurements in my thread on racial classifications.

Coon added people to certain types that made the whole thing useless. For example, he'd show a person as being predominantly Brunn when in fact they were mixed Brunn/Nordic. He did it quite often and some of the pics in that thread are not correct. I will removed the ones that don't fit in later.

I'd also like to add pics and more measurements to Hallstatt, Keltic, North and Paleo-Atlantid. If anybody has any let me know.

Also, this guy that Coon classifies as a Borreby is actually a mix of Borreby, Armenoid and Alpinid.

Perhaps it's time we actually take pictures and measurments of people.

One other thing that needs to be added is meaurements for females. Those measurements are for males only. I am not confident enough to say that a woman measurments are the same proportions as a man's just smaller. But maybe they are, I don't know.

So what does everyone think of my thread? I'd like some feedback for improvement. Besides the obvious that Hallstatt, Anglo-Saxon, North and Paleo-Atlantid are not complete. I'd also like to see some measurements on Negroes and Mongoloids.

I thought everyone was going to be :yippee but it seems everyone is :|

Perhaps a privately funded Institute of Anthropological Research needs to be founded. They could pay people $20 for a 1/2 hour of their time to take 3 pictures and measurements.

Cosmo,

I love it! :)

I don't have much time today to reply. I'm just sort of cruising through and seeing if everyone is behaving. ;)

I'll be back tomorrow and I can likely help with some anthropometrics. I've recently found some studies done on different racial groups here in America that might be useful as well.
