Surah 30 (Ar-Rum)

22. And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colours. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge.

Surah 35 (Al-Fatir)

27. See you not that Allah sends down water from the sky, and We produce therewith fruits of varying colours, and among the mountains are streaks white and red, of varying colours and others very black.

28. And of men and Ad *Dawaab (moving living creatures, humans, beasts, etc.), and cattle, in like manner of various colours. It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Almighty, Oft*Forgiving.

Surah 49 (Al-Hujuraat)

13. O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know and understand one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah are they who have piety. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

Quotes from Prophet Mohammed :saw

"You should listen to and obey your ruler even if he was an Ethiopian slave whose head looked like a raisin."

"Whoever has pride in his heart equal to the weight of an atom shall not enter Paradise." A man inquired about a person who likes to wear beautiful clothes and fine shoes, and he answered: "Allah is beautiful and likes beauty." Then he explained pride means rejecting the truth because of self-esteem and looking down on other people.

"Let people stop boasting about their ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a miserable sinner. All men are sons of Adam, and Adam came from dust."

"An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a black has no superiority over white, nor a white has any superiority over black, except by piety and good action."

"O people, know that the Lord and Sustainer is One. Your ancestor is one, your faith is one. The Arabism of anyone of you is not from your mother or father. It is no more than a language. Whoever speaks Arabic is an Arab."

If the differences between the races were merely physical, I would have no problem having friends of every race, as long as they were good people. Some of my best friends in school were Southeast Asians. But we know there are more differences.

My "racialism" is just an aesthetic preference for my own race. It's better for people to breed within their own race. Mixed people are going to be confused about their identity, regardless of their faith! If people were forced to pair up with someone who was not the type they preferred, it would create more problems between them. If a couple is not attracted to one another physically and mentally, and have nothing in common, it's a bad match.

Arabs 1400 years ago were probably not picky about their mates. Any woman was a good woman, because slavery existed and people in general were more like commodities. In the Qur'an it says if someone kills a member of another's family, the killer should offer to "replace" the murdered person with one of their own relatives. Polygamy was necessary to create large families to replace people killed in wars or kidnapped by slavers. Now we have a huge global population, so these things can't really apply to our times. :)

Interesting, yet I don't think those quote have any thing to do with race.

Allah only judges by a person's heart and actions and not their color. The Qur'an states there is inequality between individuals, to paraphrase, 'Allah gives His favor to whomever He chooses and has His own reasons which we are not expected to understand, and no wealthy man is expected to share his wealth to make himself equal to a poor man' (but charity is expected of everyone who can afford it). It's not an egalitarian, "share the wealth" religion. Being more comfortable around one's own racial group seems to be universal, I don't think it can be the work of the "shaytan". Islam is neither a directly anti-racist religion (in the way that Bahá'í is), nor a directly racist religion (in the way Hinduism can be interpreted as). The Qur'an, like the Bible is rather neutral on the subject of race, allowing people to come to their own conclusions. :)

Are there any quotes that are not so "holy" and "peaceful"?

Here are some violent passages. :axe

"The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and his messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be to be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet and genitals cut off, or to be expelled out of the land. Such will be their humiliation in the world, and in the next world they will face an awful horror." (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:33)

"Remember Allah inspired the angels: I am with you. Give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: you smite them above their necks and smite all their fingertips off of them." (Surah Al-Anfal 8:12)

"If there are twenty amongst you, you will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, you will vanquish a thousand of them" (Surah Al-Anfal 8:65).

"O Prophet! Strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh against them. Their home is hell, an evil refuge indeed." (Surah Al-Taubah 9:73)

"So, when you meet in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause, those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly on them. Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom, until the war lays down its burden. Thus you are ordered by Allah to continue in carrying out Jihad against the disbelievers till they embrace Islam or at least come under your protection, but if it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But He lets you fight, in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost." (Surah Muhammad 47:4)

Unbeliever/disbeliever/infidel are defined as someone who has read the Qur'an or has sound knowledge of Islam and rejects it. For instance, a group of Muslims couldn't rightfully invade the Amazon rainforest to hunt down aboriginals as "infidels," because they don't have any knowledge of anything. :)

:lol That's violent?

Now this is violent:

"for them (the unbelievers) garments of fire shall be cut and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water whereby whatever is in their bowels and skin shall be dissolved and they will be punished with hooked iron rods" (22:19-22)
