Rien Poortvliet (1932-1995) was probably one of the greatest Dutch illustrators ever.
Painting animals was his great passion, he loved animals although he also loved hunting them.
In the last decade of his life he also made much paintings about the old ways, the Northwest European history from the Ice-Age till the modern times.
However couldn't find paintings of it on the net.(book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0810936488/103-2964805-9987022?v=glance&n=283155))
