yep, definetly! its the combined fault of sid vicious, matt sergeant (sham69) and simon gallup (the cure) that i picked up a bass in the first place! :D

some of these bands are soo underrated, its unbelievable like Sham 69 - they were around for so long and still, nothing..

hahaha, I used to be a little punk rocker! Got out of that though. But I admit, there are some bands I still like. I haven't sold or given away my Exploited Punks not Dead CD...I just can't! :emb

I'm not really into punk but death, grind and black metal. Also classical.
I'm getting a bigger collection of Irish music too. :)

If you're not into punk, wouldn't this post be more appropriate in the Currently Listening To thread? Just a thought...

I really love The Misfits, Black Flag, The Descendants etc... as well as the more crossover stuff like Minor Threat. But really, to me, there is ONLY one real "punk" band, which is The Misfits. PARTICULARLY the 1976 pre-guitar era Misfits with keys taking its place. However, Legacy of Brutality, while never an offical full length release from them, is my favorite of the post-Misfits "best of" cds. And of course, who could forget the heaviest punk album of all time: Earth A.D.?

Well, Scathach didask if we were punk fans or just primarily NSBM fans. He was just answering the question. :)

Yeah, the Misfits is the only punk band that I don't make fun of punks for listening to :P They're not the same without Danzig though!

Now Danzig, that's some good non-BM music...

I like Dead Kennedys, D.R.I., M.D.C., Gang Green, Cryptic Slaughter and borderline punk bands like the Stranglers and New York Dolls.

I love DAF who are sometimes counted to the greater punk movement. Der Mussolini is still a shocker for multiculturalist softie-lefts.

And don't forget Germany's early 80s progressive pop band Ideal with their America-critical song "Keine Heimat". Not exactly punk but great music - especially Annette Humpe's unique vocals.

"Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen
ins deutsche Disneyland
Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen.
Wer ist unser Präsident?
Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen.
Du bist die Mickey Mouse.
Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen.
Oder kommen die Russen?

Keine Heimat - Wer schützt mich vor Amerika?

Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen.
Beschützer aus der USA.
Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen.
Die waren schon mal da.
Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen.
Wier sind ein Reservoir.
Der Mann aus Übersee.
Die Amis kommen.
Oder kommen die Chinesen?

Keine Heimat - Wer schützt mich vor Amerika?"
