Suspected eco-terrorist Tre Arrow to be extradited
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - One of the FBI's most-wanted fugitives, a suspected eco-terrorist known as Tre Arrow, was ordered back to the United States on Thursday to face charges of firebombings.

and for his web site:

I have to admitt: I think even if he is crazy, even if he did burn those trucks - the guy should not be labeled as a terrorist, and certainly should not be liable to sit 80 (!) years in prison. That's just unbelievable...

"The trees told him to change his name" (to Tre Arrow). I see a built-in insanity defense in the making.

They guy has a remerkable story: he satyed on a led for 11 days in order to save an old forrest in Oregon, and he - along with friends - decided to live in tree tops to save another forrest. I can understand why his followers believe he was framed because he was a nuisance. althogh I'm pretty sure he IS guilty of the vandalism which summed up to a damage of 250 thousand dollars, I don't think he should be labled a dangerous terrorist.

As for the name change, he claims in his site that the whole "the trees told me so", is just an invention, an attempt to show the world he's insane. I, by the way, am pretty sure this guy - who is a vagan and who was starving himself in jail untill he got raw food - has a screw loose. But I think we need those kooks, because they actually do something to save the environment.

I agree, both that he isn't really a terrorist (if so, the concept of terror looses all its meaning), and that we need people like him. And like this fellow: http://forums.skadi.net/showthread.php?t=23696 ;)
