View Full Version : Cat born with two faces

I saw this on the AOL news video today, so I google searched a link to the story. You can read the entire story on the link below. On the video I saw, they showed the cat trying to drink a bottle. They said the cat has lived longer than expected and that the hardest pert for the cat is drinking from the bottle with the mouths the way they are. Both the video and the article below mentions that the cat might need surgery on her mouth(s). I wish I could copy a still frame from the video to show you what it looks like. I'll see what I can do.

Oregon cat born with two faces

Associated Press ROSEBURG, Ore. - A newborn kitten recently entered the world with two faces and, hopefully, at least nine lives. Gemini was born Sunday with two mouths, two tongues, two noses and four eyes.

"I kind of feel sorry for her, because I can't know for a fact if she's going to live or die," its owner, Lee Bluetear of Glide, told the (Roseburg) News-Review. "If she makes it, she should be a perfectly normal and healthy cat. Other than having two faces."

Poor little cat. :~(

Hopefully the surgeons can help her to a decent life though.

Sad, but probably for the best; nature's mercy.

... at the very least it would always have been picked on by the healthier farm cats.http://www.forumspile.com/owned/Owned-CatFight.gif

:lol On one hand, the little black kitty is certainly teasing and taunting the large cat, but on the other hand...poor thing! I certainly hope the cat has been declawed. :P

Young animals often provoke their elders to get some attention; platonic rough luvin'.

The older animals tend to know the rules, and not do harm to the young after they have taught them a lesson.

I'll bet the little kitty was ok after being a bit humbled.:D

I suppose the two-headed cat was probably actually two cats; identical twins which haven't separated properly.

Strange things can happen anyway; a relative of mine had a cow which gave birth to a rather odd-looking calf; the calf was inside-out :D
