I saw something at work today that I have never seen before. Luckily someone had a digital camera and was able to take 2 pictures:

As you can see, this mouse is fast asleep in the center of the coiled snake that is supposed to be eating him.
This was the situation from the time the mouse was put into the snake's container until the end of the day, when I took the mouse out - alive and unharmed - and put him back in a cage with the other mice.

I manage an 'exotic pet' store. I'll try to get photos of some of the weird animals we sell.

Yes, it can be fun at times.
You should see the coatimundis. They are these animals that look like a cross between an opossum and a raccoon.. They've got these little hands and try to grab everything. lol.
I'm going to try and get a photo.

We've got prairie dogs, which are very similar to gophers. Unfortunately we are not allowed to sell them for the time being due to the fact that a few somewhere in the midwest caught a disease called "monkey pox". Now there is a bit of a 'scare' here, and a temporary federal ban on prairie dog sales was passed.

I've seen even fatter ones. Apparently they are very prone to obesity.
A place I used to work was given one by a guy who fed it donuts on a routine basis. This thing looked like a furry basketball with legs.

LOL. I just realized what I did. I thought Prospero was asking me a question. The fact that this supposed question was in quote brackets (plus the fact that it was something quoted from my own post) should have tipped me off.

Yes, I love these things. If I had the space, I'd buy one.

why not kick out some gigantic centipedes in favour of a cute little animal? ;)

Lol.
Well first, they are not little. They are a bit bigger than a large house cat, and they are VERY fast.
In order to house one properly, I'd need to build a BIG outdoor pen.
