(I know the Winter War happened before the official beginning of WWII in Europe, but I decided to put this in the World War II subforum anyway)

You don't count the Poland-Germany conflict as the beginning of WW2?

War between Poland and Germany started on 1st September '39
The Winter War began on 30th November '39

The Winter War began on 30th November '39No, not really. Personally, I have no opinion as to the exact date on which WWII began. We could be indirect about it and consider the date on which the Versailles Treaty was signed as the beginning of WWII, but that's just retarded. But, if I had to decide, I would say WWII truly, completely began with the invasion of France. It could be said that all before that led-up to what we now call WWII.

I consider the German (and Soviet) invasion of Poland the same as the Anschluss, and other such territorial acquisitions throughout Central Europe.

Not the beginning of the war, since Germany had of course been stripped of all weapons, and much else. But certainly the moral foundation for it.
