I can't quite explain how this race looks like, its not present in its pure form but rather as a reducer of Nordic and Mediterranean. Its primarily present in western parts of Ukraine, Central/Southeast Poland and greater Rumania.

It occurs as an element in parts of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey and the Caucasus region.

It is an intermediate form of Dinarid and Alpinid and shows traits of both, although in an overgrown state I believe.

My family is from South Poland and I've been classified as a Pontid before and didn't really know what it was at the time.

Why is Pontid considered to be a part of the Mediterranean subrace if it is intermediate between Alpine and Dinaric?

That would be a Carpathid, no? Something quite common in Hungarians, I believe.
I think Southern Boy above was a little confused.
As I understand it, Pontids are an eastern version of Atlantids, and are likewise an intermediate form between Nordids and Mediterranids proper.

I still think the Thracians/Scythians were the strongest impact of Ost-Mediterranean Phenotype on North/Central Eastern Europeans.. Specifically the Thracian tribe Getae/Dacians..:thumbup

Thanks, that's very interesting.
Does it differ from Dinaric in terms of the range of pigmentation?
