The people all look very fit and grateful for their last meal. They are definitely tougher than our generation.

I was always under the impression that the Laplanders were a blend of Scandinavian type and Inuit type peoples. I've always admired the far, far northern people, who could adapt to such harsh circumstances!

Well acording to genetic studdies on DNA North Western Europeans, ie germanics and celts share more DNA with Arabs than they do with the saami

Hehe i have linked pictures.

Look to their pics big zygomatics, slant eyes, round faces, even their skull is different.

They are a mixed race people more Eurasian than European.

I copied this from a youtube video about Saunas. Here is a Finnish woman with strong Uralic features:

does the saami people at some extent have light pigmentation?

Considering that Scandinavians did not mind mingling with them for millenias, yes.

if yes so they can be blonde and blue eyed or grey eyed?:)

Yes, so can other asiatic tribes such as Hmong, Ob-Ugric, Turkmenians and so on.

Well acording to genetic studdies on DNA North Western Europeans, ie germanics and celts share more DNA with Arabs than they do with the saami

That is because alot of arabs are more caucasoid than anything else, while samis aside from their pigmentations are more mongoloid than caucasoid.

Lapps and most Finns have chink blood.

Fixed it for you, Finns are genetically isolated from Scandinavians, because of Lapplander blood flowing in their veins.

Samis are backward, they do not follow the rest of civilization even though they reside in in Northern Europe. They aren't even on par with North Eastern Asians (Yayoi), they are kind of like Alasakan eskimos who live in igloos and eat weird things like walrus blubber or whatever.

They look like mountainous mongoloids and live like mountainous mongoloids.

It would appear that some do and some don't.
The following photo was taken on the 1890's and is called 'Three Sámi Lapp women'.
Clearly you can see the variety and how some are far more influenced than others.

thanks Rassenhygieniker, so saami people are light pigmented without nordic mix right? and is it because of mutation where they got their light pigmentation?

and so, how highly are they depigmented (being blonde and blue/grey eyed)? can anyone please? thanks :)

No they are light pigmented because of Nordid admixture, the purest of Saami aren't light pigmented.

You have to give them credit. They are living in an incredibly hostile environment where they have learned to adapt and flourish over the millennia. Most modern Europeans would in all probabilty perish in the first couple of years.

Survivability is more important than Racial Purity. At least as far as Nature is concerned...

Here's an interesting article about the Finno-Ugers (http://www.mankindquarterly.org/samples/niskanenbalticcorrected.pdf). It states that the Samis are rather distinct from the rest of European populations, but still quite similar to Finns and Scandinavians. The author has used both genetic studies, and,for those of you preferring it, anthropology to back up his point.

I'm pretty sure the origin of the Finnish name for Finland, "Suomi", is in reference to the Sami.

Bazlekar, I think the two words have a similar origin, but probably not in reference to a particular group.

Finnmark in Norway, means the land of the Finns.
