on the offchance that there's a good saxon out there who'd like to lash out for a real piece of our Anglo-Saxon past...

Yule has left me broke :~( I would absolutely love to acquire a piece like this to hand down through my family.

Very nice find there.

I will pass up the sword because of it lacking grips and I'm not sure where I'd get some strong grips professionally made for it.

I am buying the battle axe that the seller also has on auction. I have a nice space for it and can take care of the handle myself :D Hopefully no one gets too crazy near the end.

Ahhh, I didn't see that Battle-Axe! What a beautiful piece!

Nice one i hope someone increased it who will keep it in honor (? images/smilies/pantheon_europa/wink0001.gif ) I too hope that someone with the correct spirit buys these items, to preserve for our future generations, and keep our identity strong.

I hope to have a magnificent collection one day. It is an revitalizing feeling being able to have a direct contact with the past holding artifacts like these!

I will take a gallery of pictures of the battle axe after it makes its journey across the Atlantic, possibly not the first time :D

http://www.ezsniper.com/ is a decent site for when you can't keep bidding on ebay but want an item.

I can't wait to get a handle going for this monster.

I can't believe you scored it!
There would have been some serious interest in a piece of such quality!!
That Axe MUST be taking pride of place on the wall!! Could you post some pics once you have a handle for it? I've watched the sword float past $1000AU which is out of my reach images/smilies/skadi_forum/sighw000.gif

It's only a reproduction, but I'm planning on buying this axe head from Jell Dragon sometime in the next several months for a little display I'm putting together...

They have some really nice spearheads swords and seaxes too, though I want a display seax and not a blunted battle-reenactment one.

I will definitely make use of my camera once it arrives.

The gentleman sent it out on the 3rd of January, not sure how long a UK --> Eastern US journey takes, but I'm excited to own such a piece.
