As you might have noticed, the post thank you hack has stopped working recently. This is due to an incompatibility issue between our updated server software, particularly the current PHP version it runs on, 7.3, and the thanks modification, which is unfortunately somewhat outdated. Last time we had this issue we were able to solve the problem by reverting to PHP 7.01, however this isn’t possible anymore because this particular version is no longer offered to us. We’ve contacted our host to request it and will update you as soon as we receive a response.

In the meantime we’ve had to disable the post thank you hack. Please make use of the reputation, private and/or visitor messaging options to express your appreciation for/agreement with posts while we are looking into the matter. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Update: we were able to restore PHP 7.0.33 however this service is no longer offered by default since January this year. Currently, all websites running PHP 7.1 or older are required to have PHP Extended Support on their account, a service which incurs an additional $5.00 monthly charge. We’ve signed up, however since we are already paying a substantial server bill these extras don’t come at an entirely negligible cost to us. If you enjoy the thank you hack please consider making a small donation to support us in covering the fees. In the meantime we’ve re-enabled the thanks option so you should be able to use it again. It is recommended to refresh the site before doing so.
