Young women around the world have gotten fed up with how good older silver vixens can sometimes look with their gray hair and have started dying their hair gray as well. Whether it's an act of jealous appropriation or a tacit nod to the older ladies that know how to rock their silver locks, this gray hair trend has a way of turning heads.

Tbh, I don't like it when young women die their hair any unnatural color. I know that they think it's cute - but it's not. Don't do it ladies, either keep it natural or go for red.

I was recently introduced to an otherwise attractive young lady by her clean-cut boyfriend. She had long pink colored hair. The next time I saw her it was purple... WTF! :wtf

What a strange way to attract attention.

Silver seems to be in lately, especially with the grunge scene. To me, it comes a bit strong. If someone has ash blonde hair, a few silver/grayish highlights however can add some variation.

e.g. like her

I have a few walking on the street who take part in this trend. And it just looks weird to me. And I also wonder who started this and more importantly why. Because I doubt the reason given on that website is the reason.

As my hair started to turn white/grey naturally, it seems like I am in the trend.

I don't have any plans to dye my hair, I like it as it is. Maybe when it will be almost all white I will dye it blonde to look how my grandma looked when I was a child (she was looking really good!). I am into blonde hair, hehe. But I prefer my hair to be natural, so probably natural white/grey is much better.

This is ugly as hell. So are most other unnatural things women do to themselves.

At least it's not as bad as tattoos.

I have to admit it looks better than old gnädige Frau walking the streets with purple hair. I mean really purple. I see this on old women around here in their '60's and '70's. What's up with that anyway???

My wife is far from grey. But I happen to like the silver/grey hair depicted in the photo. ;)

But I wouldn't be seen in public with a woman with hair dyed some abnormal color. :thumbdown

This ridiculous trend demonstrates two things-1. that women are subject to vanity to a greater degree than men and 2. These idiots are dying their hair gray to be taken more 'seriously', not realising that it has the direct opposite effect.

Not sure if the grey colour is to look like old ladies. Tbh I don't get it. Older women do all they can to hide grey hair choosing to dye it back to their former colours. Now young women are picking grey. It probably all started with a few celebrities dyeing grey hair and now it's a trend.

I prefer natural hair color so I don't like dyed hair at all.

The older ladies have grey hair that is most likely taking on a yellowish tone, and applying a rinse or toner with a violet undertone is supposed to counteract the yellow, making it cooler. On the colour wheel, yellow is opposite violet. However, grey hair can be very porous, and if the toner is left on too long, the hair will become over saturated and look purple.
