Egil's saga was certainly dark. I remember thinking that it would make an amazing tv drama if someone would adapt it. I need to reread it, maybe after I get through Saga of Vatnsdal.

Have you read Njal's saga yet? If not I strongly recommend it, probably the best book I've ever read. Its essentially just a long court room drama spurred on by two rival women that tests the patience and long standing friendship of their husbands. Check it out.

Both Njl's saga and (especially) Egil's saga are among the best we produced.
