Some of von Neumann's Otamid skulls. Yaghans and Texas Coast Indians were similar to Pleistocene Americans in recent centuries. To von Neumann the robust Otamids were the first wave of migration into the Americas so people like Otamies were New World UP survivors.

Dolichocranic, retreating foreheads, overall robusticity, supraorbital bulge, large and rectangular face with notable facial flatness, and a narrow to medium broad nose?

Overall, this skull looks African to me, even Bushman.

I disagree. Should bear Luzia in mind though.

Well, obviously it is not African but from this view it looks so to me.

Someone reconstructed a Karankawa Otamid from the Gulf Coast of Texas. Aztecs preferred to send Gulf Coast people into battle as their Otontins. Big robust race supposedly from the Chinese Upper Cave.

Would be nice if someone illustrated a book of racial types in this clean, non-stuffy style. A book of skulls and reconstructions is overdue.
