View Full Version : "Statistics - Top 5" -- "Latest Replies" Errors (What You, The User Can Do)

Sunday, March 27th, 2016, 07:02 PM
I discovered this myself last night while attempting to use Deutsch in the title-field of a new thread; and I now notice that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Here's what's currently transpiring, if you post "special characters," i. e. the likes of which do not exist in the modern English language, e. g. German Umlaut(s), et al. into your new-thread Title-Field not only will the software not 'recognize' said 'special characters' but additionally the whole title will appear as BLANK! along with NO HYPERLINK provided/available to viewers. :|

One simple and easy way you as a user can remedy this 'glitch'/error is to avoid using said 'special characters' (again, in English) from the get-go; or if you fail in that, go back into your thread/post-text editors and EDIT OUT these characters; THEN! your thread-hyperlink will 'miraculously appear!' ;) in the "Latest Replies" section near the header of thine Index-pages. :thumbup :)

Mind you, said thread-titles can appear, i. e. 'work,' via hyperlinks via other sections and fora within the over all Forum...

...*Cheers!*, Happy Threading, & Good Luck. :thumbup :)

Just removed the apostrophe in the Trump thread title and it appeared, so even these "special characters" are a problem, it seems. Apparently dashes and quotes are alright though...

Damn, 'twas/is worse than I thought (:-\ ...in the whole scheme of things, though: not a biggie.

@TB.: THANK YOU!! for expanding the Stats. setting(s) from Top-5 to Top-13 :thumbup , because the 5 setting was insufficient (in my view). :D Well, in plain old English it was 'a pain' with regard to 'airing out' thread titles. :)
