The economy remains in shambles yet President Obama keeps wasting taxpayer dollars expanding an already bloated U.S. government, this month launching a new office to help build a “diverse and inclusive workforce” at all federal agencies.

The new Office of Diversity and Inclusion will ensure that the entire U.S. government develops comprehensive strategies to drive and integrate diversity and inclusion practices. It will assist the different agencies in building a workforce that “respects individual and organizational cultures” by examining policy options, data trends and employee survey findings.

The goal is to eliminate demographic group imbalances in targeted occupations and improve workforce diversity. To attain this, special initiatives have been created targeting specific groups, including Hispanics, African Americans, American Indians, women and gays and lesbians. The idea is to create a workforce that truly reflects America’s diversity, according to the Obama Administration.

In fact, the Obama executive order creating the new agency assures that it will promote the federal workplace as a model of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. It will also establish a coordinated government-wide initiative to promote the cause. The investment is worth it because a commitment to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion is critical for the federal government as an employer, according to the commander-in-chief.

The president’s new plan will force agencies to identify and remove barriers to equal employment opportunities that may exist in the federal government’s recruitment, hiring, promotion, retention, professional development and training policies and practices.

Oh, boy I thought they had affirmative action for that already.:oanieyes

You could almost bet white Germanic people will be excluded in this "diversity".:thumbdown

I also wonder under what authority he has to just create another department without the consent of congress or the people.

In other words: more government.

Is that all your reaction to it. Mind you, having a fairly Platonic interpretation of statehood, my idea is with an absolute ruler that however lets people live their lives as they wish for the most part; furthering that which is beneficial, accepting that where positive and negative keep a balance, and only working against that which is detrimental to the folk.

This is more dangerous on a different level. More "diversity, inclusion" --- I don't think I will have to preach to the choir what that means? More quotas, more illegals, more racial others in general to deal with. It is only ironic that this comes from a leader who is himself a mongrel and should know from the career and that of his wife that equal chances exist already, but that many minorities simply don't grab them --- because they can't be arsed and because welfare keeps them with enough of a filled belly.

The traitors who pushed this president to get elected, will hopefully face the gallows - figuratively or literally - before long as much as he will. ;)

I could careless about job opportunities with the federal government. What bothers me is that he will be packing in more bureaucrats of racial others to pester us in the future after we have thrown him out of office.

Then again this could be a way to appease the illegal negro voters that are upset at him for ' not doing enough for blacks '.-btw I don't believe negroes should be allowed to vote, since as a race they have proven they can't handle the reasonability of voting.

I wonder if this means that anyone other than an Israeli Zionist will be able to work at the State Department...

An office of diversity and inclusion is a complete joke. I tried to get a job at the post office years ago and was told bluntly that veterans, minorities and women would have from 15-25 points added to boost their test scores, and despite scoring a 97/100 on the test, I was never called back. Government jobs do not go to white males, and haven't for 30 years.

That's all that I can say at the moment. I know exactly what this is and what Obummer is doing, the same sort of nonsense that's happening in Europe at the moment (trying to solve racial problems with 'more democracy').

The White House issued an executive order on Thursday titled “Establishing a Coordinated Government-wide Initiative to Promote Diversity and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce.” The purpose of the order is “to promote the federal workplace as a model of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion.”

In other words, it would be better for the government if public-spirited white workers sought employment elsewhere. Lost amid all the politically correct box-checking is the principle that the most qualified person should be hired for a job.

President Obama’s new order instructs federal agencies to design new strategies for hiring, promoting and keeping workers of “diverse” backgrounds.

The diversity the government is seeking is not diversity of ideas, outlooks or work experiences. In contemporary political parlance, “diversity” refers primarily to the color of one’s skin and not the content of one’s character.

The executive order says the federal government “must create a culture that encourages collaboration, flexibility and fairness to enable individuals to participate to their full potential.”

In the name of “fairness,” however, the government will intensify programs that discriminate against white Americans by extending special privileges to everyone else.

The order also says that “attaining a diverse, qualified workforce is one of the cornerstones of the merit-based civil service,” though merit and ability are not the metrics of choice when measuring success in diversity-driven career programs.

The order states that by law, the federal government’s recruitment policies should “endeavor to achieve a workforce from all segments of society” and that “as the nation’s largest employer, the federal government has a special obligation to lead by example.”

In that respect, the government could largely declare mission accomplished. A quick look at the demographic breakdown of the federal payroll shows that “diversity” goals have been more than met.

According to the Office of Personnel Management, federal employees in fiscal 2010 were 66.2 percent white, 17.7 percent black, 8 percent Hispanic, 5.6 percent Asian and Pacific Islander and 1.8 percent American Indian.

Compared to the general U.S. population, the federal force is a bit too diverse. Blacks are overrepresented by 6.9 percent compared to the civilian work force, Asians and Pacific Islanders by 1.2 percent, and American Indians are more than double their proportion of the population at large.

White Americans, who make up about 70 percent of the work force, are underrepresented by around 4 percent. Hispanics are also underrepresented despite the Clinton-era executive order 13171, “Hispanic Employment in the Federal Government.”

During the 2008 presidential campaign and in the initial months of the Obama presidency, there was great enthusiasm for the concept of post-racial America. Mr. Obama’s historic election was viewed as a watershed for the issue of race relations. People thought that finally a national dialogue could be commenced on the issue free of guilt and recriminations.

This promise stumbled with the July 2009 Rose Garden “beer summit” between Mr. Obama, black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., and white Cambridge, Mass., police Sgt. James Crowley, who had arrested Mr. Gates for disorderly conduct. At the time, Mr. Obama called it a “teachable moment,” but that White House photo-op was the last anyone heard about the national dialogue on race.

Mr. Obama has squandered his chance to lead America away from the divisive racial politics of the past. This executive order tells America that in the Obama administration, race-based preferences are still business as usual.

In our time, however, Arthur's achievement has been undone, as a racial spoils system in federal hiring and promotions has been imposed by Democratic presidents, unresisted by Republicans who rarely exhibit the courage to stand up for their principles when the subject is race.

A week ago, an item buried in The Washington Post reported that Obama had "issued an executive order requiring government agencies to develop plans for improving federal workforce diversity."

Obama, wrote Isaac Arnsdorf, is targeting "a problem that has been on the administration's radar. Whites still hold more than 81 percent of senior pay-level positions."

Now, as white folks are two-thirds of the U.S. population, and perhaps three-fourths of those in the 45 to 65 age group who would normally be at senior federal positions, why is this "a problem"?

As no one has contended otherwise, we have to assume that the men and women who hold these top positions got there because of the longevity of their service and the superiority of their skills.

Why is the color of their skin a "problem" for Barack Obama?

As reported here previously, African-Americans are hardly underrepresented in the U.S. government.

Though only 12 percent to 13 percent of the U.S. population, blacks hold 18 percent of all federal jobs. African-Americans are 25 percent of the employees at Treasury and Veterans Affairs, 31 percent of State Department employees, 37 percent of the Department of Education, 38 percent of Housing and Urban Development.

They are 42 percent of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., 55 percent of the Government Printing Office, 82 percent of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency.

According to The Washington Post, blacks hold 44 percent of the jobs at Fannie Mae and 50 percent of the jobs at Freddie Mac.

The EEOC, where African-Americans are overrepresented by 300 percent, has been asked to oversee the new "government-wide initiative to promote diversity and inclusion in the federal workforce."

I'm not making this up.

Perhaps, while he is battling for a greater diversity of sacrifice and rewards up there on Martha's Vineyard, our president might reflect on another example of the overrepresentation of white males -- in the caskets coming home to Dover.

In the first five years of the Iraq war, Asian-Americans were 1 percent of our fallen heroes, Latinos 11 percent, African-Americans 10 percent. White Americans were 75 percent of the dead, and from photos of the fallen in newspapers since, the ratios appear to hold.

Does this overrepresentation of white men in the body bags and caskets coming home bother our commander in chief, who wants fewer white men at the top level of his executive branch?

White Americans are set to become a minority. The changing face of the country will have consequences that are far more than cosmetic. Recent news events, along with analysis by Steve Farron, author of The Affirmative Action Hoax, show how and why.

In fact, the Obama executive order creating the new agency assures that it will promote the federal workplace as a model of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion.

Creating an agency that works to include more of everyone and displace straight white males is fundamentally mutually exclusive with equal opportunity. It is based off an unfounded belief that straight white males somehow have an unfair advantage at the same time more and more legally mandated institutions are made to keep straight white males from achieving. Therefore the SWM haters make the leap that it is in the name of fairness that everyone except straight white males receive special treatment, at the same time believing that it is in the name of equal opportunity. If straight white males are preferred over others in the workforce, it is because of their own merit. Innate and natural differentiation in ability does not warrant an agency that gives special treatment to everyone else at the expense of straight white males just because they are less able and different. The creation of such an agency admits that being anything but a straight white male is a natural disadvantage and therefore requires special disability treatment.

That's why the whole diversity and inclusion dogma is so insidious. On the outside it looks like we're being nice to minorities (or worldly majorities, as they actually are. Whites are the real minorities.) with happy, lovey dovey, feelgood rainbows and lollipops. But the dogma has a rotten core. Unfortunately, not enough people are able to see the rotten core. 'Diversity' is the PC term for 'racial diversity' and actually means exclusion of whites, particularly males, not inclusion. There's only so much room and resources; when you add one you have to remove another (think university admissions). The dogma is nothing but a divide and conquer weapon against whites in their own countries.

From the article:
"The goal is to eliminate demographic group imbalances in targeted occupations and improve workforce diversity."

Yeah, that's brilliant. Just eliminate the 'imbalances'. As if there is something like a universal standard for balances in skills.
The only way to do that is to get the other groups of their ass, force them to finish a high education, forcefully train them so they get decent work ethics and then release them on the jobmarket. For that you don't need a government agency, but a whip.

The best comparison are Asians (such as chinese, japanese) in the west. They have good educations and perform quite well in jobs. So the problem is not the social or welfare system, nor is it the job market and its demands. Whites perform well and also Asians (despite their accent). So if blacks don't perfom, then it's not the system, but it's their own fault.
