Anyone can help me find the origin of this surname? Is it Celtic or Germanic?

Do you have any document that proves that Barder was an alternative spelling of Barter? I hear that claim a LOT, and an really skeptical about it (sounding similar does not mean being the same).

Alot of times surnames are altered, but are still the same one. for example on my mums side, their surname is Redpath, but it was originally Rippeth and because of illiteracy in the lowlands at the time it went from Rippeth -> Rieddpeth -> Riddpeth and so on. a big factor is also the way the people back then pronounced the name.

I am still not convinced. As far as I know, my surname as always been Barder. Also it does not help that major websites such as FamilySearch, treat it as a separate entity altogether.
