Personality Questionnaire



This is a full personality test based on the best-known system of classifying personality traits: the five-factor model.
You will be asked to rate yourself on 68 different emotional states. You will then be asked six further short questions.
The entire test should take about 15 minutes.
It was designed by Neil Scott of Cassin-Scott Associates.
We will not pass on your personal details to any other organisation without your permission except for the purposes of processing the data for this experiment.

This is interesting; however, I have never heard of "Confidence" as one of the traits in the 5 factor model. I am wondering if it is different because it is in Europe instead of America and is it a comparable scale/measure of that in America? Here we have the NEO-PIR (NEO Personality Inventory Revised) that is based on the five factor model- Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, and Concientiousness. As you can see, the only facet that differs is Neuroticism vs. Confidence. Does anyone know more about this?

It appears to measure the traits of anxiety/apprehensiveness as well as assertiveness, which correspond to neuroticism and agreeableness under the five factor model.

As with you, I am primarily familiar with the Five-Factor model, and likewise, have not frequently encountered this particular systerm of classification.

Extraversion -

I have noticed that several people disagree with what their personality profile says about them. One of my favorite sayings is that there are things that we know about ourselves that no one else knows, there are things that we know about ourselves that others also know, and there are things that others know about us that we do not know. It is possible that a personality inventory is picking up on things about you that you do not realize about yourself. Also consider that personality traits lie on a continuum. The five factors of personality are representative of the 5 most basic factors. Other personality inventories measure a whole host of traits. My favorite inventories include the PAI- Personality Assessment Inventory, and the MMPI- Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. No personality inventory is 100% accurate and they should not be the sole basis for diagnosing. Think of how impossible it would be to create a personality measure to study every facet of personality. Think of these 5 factors equivalent to the primary colors. The interaction creates secondary colors, and so on.
