View Full Version : Furor Over Proposed Ban of Circumcision in Denmark

Jews and Muslims in Denmark are in an uproar about a bill to ban circumcision for boys under the age of 15, according to Yediot Ahronot. The country's National Council for Children and Ethics Council have both endorsed the proposal and only the parliament's medical committee can prevent it from being heard.

The National Council for Children argued that, "Circumcision is the irreversible damage to a child's body before he is given the chance to object." It also said the ban was a matter of equality, in the wake of a five-year-old ban on female circumscion.

Denmark's Chief Rabbi Bent Lexner – who is also a certified mohel (circumciser) in the community – told Yediot Ahronot, "The comparison between circumcision and the intentional mutilation of the female sex organ in certain societies is simply complete nonsense." He added, "If the law forbidding circumcision is ever passed in Denmark, Jews will have to leave the place they have been living in for hundreds of years."

Judaism specifies circumcsion when a boy is eight days old, unless medically dictated otherwise. Islam does not specify a date, but allows it through puberty.

Jews and Muslims offended... what's new? Is there something that DOESN'T offend them? If they don't like it, they can go back to the bloody Middle East.

Oh no! Was that a threat? :D

Too bad they don't propose such a law in Germany.

This is EXACTLY the kind of laws we need to make rich, first world nations look unnatractive to Ismaelite settlers.

Instead of saying 'No ragheads allowed,' we need to say no circumscision allowed. Period.

Roundabout-racialism is more effective.

If an adult opts to have genital mutilation that's up to them, but to perform unnecessary surgery on a child, tattoos, piercings or any other 'primitive' practice 'for 'cosmetic', 'cultural' or any other reason, should be a criminal offence.

"If the law forbidding circumcision is ever passed in Denmark, Jews will have to leave the place they have been living in for hundreds of years."

Is that a threat? I really hope, for the sake of Denmark, that the Muslims don't take the same stance, that would be tragic :)

I doubt very much that there'll be a ban. I can't see it going through, i mean, we all know the power that jews seem to have everywhere.
I'm surprised that they haven't been screaming that it's racist/antisemitic/islamophobic/whatever..

I hope that this only refers to circumcision as a cultural value. A blanket ban on circumcision would not be conducive - people might have phimosis (foreskin too tight) and thus need to be circumcised for medical reasons.

If circumcision for medical reasons is necessary, then it is usually healthiest if it is done when the boy is approx. 5-7 years of age, it precludes the type of complications that can arise by f.ex. nightly erection against which Valium needs to be given --- hardly a good thing if you need medication to "keep it down", especially considering the nebulous ownership of shares in pharmaceutical firms...

A Law to outlaw circumcision for cosmetic or cultural reasons would get my immediate approval, as I find the practice of mutilating children quite abhorrent. However, medical circumcision should be allowed --- I do not like to offer personal details below the beltline, but had I not waited until early adulthood to undertake what would have been a medical necessity since I was a wee tot (and an operation I would have otherwise very much objected to), many complications coming with my very personal removal of the foreskin would have been a non-issue, talking both mentally and physically there.

Forbidding medical circumcision would be like refusing a patient treatment over any other medical condition, something quite against the idea of medical health.

I do not see a problem in this, they have Israel.

They murdered to get it and they murder to keep it, yet most Jews choose to live in foreign nations.

Let's face it, if we were all Jewish, then we'd love the attention, reparations and hatchling treatment we'd get in other countries over the constant blockwart-style patrol of the Israeli army, too. ;)

Plus I suppose they just can't break an old habit of sticking their nose (ha - a bad pun!) into other people's business. :P

Not to worry, this law will no doubt make Denmark much more attractive to blacks and homosexuals

Though I do find it particularly curious that more people thanked my post talking about Jewish settlement than the one talking about the fact that medical circumcision should be allowed where it is a necessary measure. I wonder, would the same happen if I said breast operations should generally be frowned upon but be allowed if the patient suffered from breast cancer? :shrug

Oh, now this is truly funny. Obviously the winters in Danemark are way too long. Banning circumcision? Who the hell cares?

Imagine one of those Danish government enforcement officials going down to South Texas around Weimar or Schulenburg and coming up on a gaggle of old crusty ranch hands, and saying something like, "Howdy, boys. I'm your newly deputized Gubmint Pecker Checker and I'm here to see whether any o' you boys've been clipped in violation of Statute 179. dash R-1. Uh, drop your trousers fellers and gimme a look see at what y'all are a sportin down there."

Give the "Peter Principle" a whole new meaning!

Oh, sumbitch, that's funny. What the hell is this world coming to?

Certainly by this time it's going to be too late to late to rectify the situation :D
