A fine documentary on the most special football (US, soccer) rivalry in the world from a cultural, historical and English perspective: England versus Germany. The mother of all football games.

I'll admit I didn't watch the video. I can't have my heart go through it all again. Well, I might have a peek when I'm in the mood for it. :D

You can forget your Brazil and your France; your Italy and your Spain. There is two games that I will decamp from my self enforced ban of watching England football, and that is Argentina and Germany.

Argentina I hate with a passion. Always have and always will. They look like cheats just standing up straight singing, let alone on the pitch.
They are physically and mentally weaker than English teams and don't like it up 'em.
The only saving grace is their superior tactics and mercurial wonderboys.

I cried when we lost to them in the World Cup 86. I shouted non-stop abuse at the telly in 98, but I sang with absolute joy and accompanied by angels as we beat them 1-0 in Japan (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bJMPt3snkms) and 3-2 in Switzerland (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T2rx3aObdb8); the only time a friendly got such emotion out of me.

Well, as for the Germans....:)

I grew up associating consistent and exemplary football teams with the Germans.
I have hated losing to them, but each time you always find yourself not blaming them, but your own team.

I have seen German players dive left right and centre and thought ill of the player for letting down his team; I have seen players run off after scoring goals with aptly named writing on their t-shirts (http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/kuntz.jpg), but each time I have just accepted the Vorsprung Durch Technik.

You can't beat the machines. But, it sure is like staring at Heaven when you do put a spanner in the works. ;)

Drifting slightly off-topic but I couldn't agree more.
