English Heritage exists to protect and promote England's spectacular historic environment and ensure that its past is researched and understood.

English Heritage are also a bunch of affluent upper-middle-class, conceited exclusionists, who believe that only the "right" type of Englander should have full access to the nation's greatest sites.

Hence, for example, the (albeit recently lifted) ban on pagans entering Stonehenge to celebrate the Solstice (apart from a token middle-class group of self-styled Druids, for the benefit of the TV cameras).

Sadly true :(

But, it's better than letting our heritage go to ruin. I support English Heritage and the National Trust. They just need to be more willing to keep these monuments "alive", such as Stonehenge being used etc.
