I was wondering what image you see when you turn on your computer...
When I first got my trusty laptop, I would change my screensaver every few days, but I've had my current one for about 2 months and am still not bored with it!

It's taken from the film "Brazil", a kind of "1984"esque British film, and my 2nd favourite film of all (after "Threads"). :)

There's a "print" key on your keyboard. Press on it. Open PhotoShop. Open a new file in Photoshop. Paste the Screenshot made with the Print key in this new file. There you are. ;)

Once my Laptop works again I can try to post it.

It's the logo of my band, Hliskjßlf (sadly the older version of the logo) and underneath it in Olde English writing "True Germanic Heathen Black Metal".

hehe ;)

Desktop background? Ha!

I need first something what is called a "desktop" before I can have a "desktop background".

The more important stuff on one's computer (like mine) is the content inside of windows. And, no matter how big one's monitor is, screen space will always be at a premium. Thus, I abhor the use of eye-candy driven systems and use this instead: http://www.modeemi.fi/~tuomov/ion/ ... the Ion window manager for X11, which is such a relief to use over those royally unusable desktop environments (it tiles windows, it doesn't overlap windows and you drive most window actions through the keyboard instead of the mouse.)

If you can call it a desktop background though, when a window is not open in a particular area of the screen, the background is black.

:D :D

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/113/guide1ie8.th.jpg (http://img522.imageshack.us/my.php?image=guide1ie8.jpg)

Icons in red are communications (obviously), blue cross is for Audio-Video programs and the folder for those projects/files, pink cross is for graphics related programs and the folder for those files, yellow cross is for writing programs and folder, green cross is for "other projects" and their associated programs and file folder, purple square is for internet projects (two programs for site design, two programs for FTP, four browsers and a folder for associated files), and the white stuff is stuf that doesn't fall into other categories, but is still used somewhat regularly. :)

How do you post a shot of your desktop?

If you use windows, press print screen button on keyboard when you view desktop. This will make a copy of how your desktop looks and store it in memory. Then go to mspaint, photoshop or any other image program and paste it in. And then you save and you can upload as attachment or at imageshack.

The wallpaper has a Roman or Greco-Roman theme but it is actually the artwork of the Austrian Gustav Klim .

So I was a little bored at work. Not sure how long the novelty of the wallpaper on the right (http://i.imgur.com/Jk063.jpg) will last. :)

My desktop images slowly alternate through a series of fantasy pictures depicting imaginative landscapes, mythical creatures, and whimsical figures. If I don't use my PC for twenty minutes, my screensaver slideshow begins. ;)
