Did you ever have the problem that you wanted to access some websites via a proxy or SSH tunnel (let's say your own website, some forums you use and your webmail), but not really others because there you prefer more speed? Sick and tired of switching proxies on and off manually?

Then this addon might be the right one for you.
FoxyProxy 1.0

by Eric H. Jung,
released on Apr 26, 2006

FoxyProxy is an advanced proxy management tool. It offers more features than SwitchProxy, ProxyButton, QuickProxy, xyzproxy, ProxyTex, etc:

* Define which proxy to use (or none!) for arbitrary URLs using wildcards, regular expression and other conveniences

* Define multiple proxies

* No more wondering whether a URL loaded through a proxy or not: FoxyProxy includes an optional log of all URLs loaded, including which proxy was used (if any), which pattern was matched, timestamps, etc.

* Temporarily or permanently disable a proxy with the click of a button

* Out-of-the-box support for Tor - zero configuration

* Optional status bar information about which proxy is currently in use

* Full Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) support

* Unobtrusive presence, stable execution, premier support

* More!

gTranslate (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/918)

With gTranslate you can translate any text in a webpage just by selecting and right-clicking over it. The extension uses the Google translation services to translate the text.

FlashBlock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433)

I use this w/ adblock because some site won't work if you block everything from macromedia.
Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

Flashblock currently blocks the following content types:
* Macromedia Flash
* Macromedia Shockwave
* Macromedia Authorware

abcTajpu (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/459)

Type in accented letters, international characters or symbols into Firefox or Thunderbird, either simply by using a context menu (there being support for many languages), or quickly by keyboard macro (you can even define your own).

FoxyProxy (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2464)

FoxyProxy is an advanced proxy management tool that completely replaces Firefox's limited proxying capabilities. It offers more features than SwitchProxy, ProxyButton, QuickProxy, xyzproxy, ProxyTex, TorButton, etc.

NoScript (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722) - The best security you can get in a web browser! Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS attacks.

CookieSafe (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2497/) - This extension will allow you to easily control cookie permissions. It will appear on your statusbar. Just click on the icon to allow, block, or temporarily allow the site to set cookies. You can also view or clear the cookies and exceptions by right clicking on the statusbar icon. For safer browsing you may choose to deny cookies globally and then enable them on a per site basis.

FT DeepDark (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ft-deepdark/) - Best Firefox Theme since 2012. A great theme for anyone who has to look at a screen for several hours at a time. The dark, sleek look is easy on the eyes and everything is black: Menus, new tabs, context; except for the neon contrast in the URL field and tabs. It also runs quicker than most themes and the animations are smooth [Note: This is a Theme, not an Addon, so you will have to activate it in Tools > Addons > Appearance]

Black Google Theme (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/black-google-theme/) - Makes your Google page all black - Great to save power, battery, and your eyes

Black Youtube Theme (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/black-youtube-theme/) - Same thing, for Youtube!

+ Not an addon, but a free, useful software to protect your keystrokes:
