What color jewlery like gold or silver would look best with a brown halter dress with copper colored sparkles. It's for my 8th grade prom. I have matching brown shoes. But don't know what kind or color jewelry to wear.

So you're a man who wears halter tops/dresses? Prom already?
lol
Anyway, yellow gold goes best with brown and copper. I would go with long gold earrings.. no necklace because of the halter straps.

IMO, NO jewelry looks really good with brown. I would suggest gold and if any piece is jewelled, the stones should be green [peridot, jade, NOT emerald; it has too much blue in it.] Amber and "cat's eye" are harmonious but will not show up well. Yellow stones are garish.

lol! I am hoping maybe she didn't mean to select male. ???

P.S @ GTO, I think gold jewelery does look good w/ brown. ( some jewelery ) and yes jade would look lovely.

What shade of brown is it? And just how sparkly? If it's glittery, then keep the jewelry as few and simple as possible. I agree with yellow gold & copper.

I'd choose something very simple and elegant such as a gold choker:

..and maybe a matching bracelet.

In the case of copper, then:

I'd probably go with the copper, if the dress has copper highlights. I hope you're not a man :D

I've always thought a good piece of amber looked good with brown. I concur with the suggestion of copper, as well.

Tiger's eye, dark citrines, smoky quartz, ivory, bone.

The opposite of brown is also purple, so perhaps a really well cut ameythst with a very good colour could work.
