Map of Iceland, decorated with sea creatures and depicting the fabled volcano Hekla erupting violently. From Abraham Ortelius' Theatrum orbis terrarum, Antwerpen 1595. The map was made in 1585, and appeared in the editions of Theatrum from 1590. The Danish historian Anders Sørensen Vedel provided information for the map, and on the lower right is a dedication from him in Latin to Frederik II.
